Apraksts

Buivydiškės or Budziviškės were mentioned in crusader chronicles of the 12th century. Buivydiškės manor is believed to be one of the oldest manors around Vilnius. The manor is famous for its residents – the Šventaragis family, and the Radziwills. From the 15th century, Buivydiškės was a suburban villa of the Radziwill family. In around 1901, the manor was sold in a court auction to a road engineer lieutenant general Dmitrij Buturlin. From 1953, the premises of the manor were used by Buivydiškės soviet farm, and from 1961 it was a part of Buivydiškės school of agriculture. Since 1996, Buivydiškės secondary school has been located in the manor house. Buivydiškės manor consists of the palace, two servants’ quarters, an icehouse and two houses.
